We are looking forward to your participation in the Conference “Strengthening Democracy – Towards Resilient Institutions and Societies in the G7 and Africa.” To organise your trip to Berlin and back, we kindly ask you to fill in the form below. Please be informed that we will organise your trip and that we cannot reimburse costs for flights that have been booked by participants.

Entry and Visa Requirements, Travel Health Insurance

We highly recommend that you make an appointment at the embassy to apply for your visa as soon as possible.

In case you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa at the embassy, please fill in the fields below (date of birth and nationality) and we will send you your invitation letter via e-mail in due course.

We will also provide you with travel health insurance for the conference. To issue it, we need your date of birth. Therefore we kindly ask you to indicate it below. Our team will contact you with further details about the travel health insurance by email.

The safety and health of our guests and team are of utmost priority for us. You will receive further information on COVID regulations applicable at the time of the event in due course.

Please inform yourself in time about entry requirements to Germany valid for your country and kindly note that they may also change on short notice.

Airport Transfer

We will organize the transfer from the airport to the hotel for you. Our team will provide you with more detailed information about the transfer in due course.

Hotel

Please let us know for which days you need a hotel in Berlin. We have reserved single rooms including breakfast in a hotel near the conference venue. Please note that we will only cover costs for the hotel during the conference (25.-28. September). Further costs for an extended stay have to be borne by yourself.

Your personal data will be stored and processed by GIZ GmbH and its subcontractor for the purpose of preparing and holding the event for which you register, and will be forwarded to the hosting organisations: Federal Foreign Office and, if applicable, the cooperation partners mentioned in the invitation. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1) b of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Furthermore, your data will then be stored and processed in order to provide information about future events. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1) e of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Declaration of consent
(Please note that we will only be able to organise your trip if you agree.)
You have the right to ask for your personal data, to have them rectified if they are incorrect or to demand the restriction of processing or the deletion of the data. The data will be deleted if there are no legal retention periods for it. The permission granted to use the personal data can also be revoked at any time. The lawfulness of the processing up to the time of the revocation is not affected by this. Please send the revocation by email to: datenschutzbeauftragter@giz.de.
Unfortunately, participation is not possible if all personal data are deleted before the start of the event.
